SOFIES' conference during the AIVP 2011 session in order to present the IE potential of port cities…

The AIVP forms the first worldwide network of port cities. AIVP is an associative structure which brings together more than 200 urban and port stakeholders in the development of cities and ports as well as their partners. Mr Lecomte, past president of "Port du Havre" , is currently the AIVP chairman after inheriting it from Mr Azkuna, district mayor of Bilbao. Every 2 years, AIVP organises an international conference, which now take place in Antwerpen, Belgium.

Industrial Ecology is an innovative approach which seeks to reduce material losses in consumption and production processes. SOFIES nomination to the "Swiss Award of Ethic 2010"
Date : 9th november 2010
Initiated in 2005 by the High School of Engineering and Managment of Vaud Canton (HEIG-VD), the "Swiss Award of Ethic" promotes ethic, sustainable development and social responsability in corporation strategy and public collectivities.
SOFIES is nominated for its project to integrate "Corporate systemic analysis on the whole values and stakeholders chain" in its proposal values from the 1st of May 2010. SOFIES plays a key role in helping companies tackle 21st century challenges in terms of sustainability. Ethics in business at a strategic level is a key success factor to achieve a fundamental change of behavior on the long run. The aim is to start by adapting the strategy and governance framework of the company in order to integrate social and environmental values, then to extend the concept to the whole value chain and stakeholders. The final result is an adapted business model integrating ethics at all levels, providing the company with an interesting source of innovation.

A new strategic Director for SOFIES

A Zheijang dignitaries delegation visits Switzerland : A success to be renewed

In the frame of Industrial Ecology concepts and tools project formation co-supported by UNIDO and SECO, SOFIES and its partner Swiss China Networking have organised a study tour for the dignitaries and executives of the Zheijang province in Switzerland. For a week, the delegation visited Industrial Ecology case studies : distance heating network of SAIDEF waste incineration plant, CIMO Industrial Ecology Project of a chemical site in Monthey, special and electronic wastes treatment by BAREC and CRIDEC recycling enterprises. SOFIES and Swiss China Networking thank gratefully the swiss enterprises for their availability and for welcoming the Zhejiang delegation. |
