Date : 12 december 2011 The document was written by Guillaume Massard using preliminary statistical analysis of imports and exports' means of transportation.The results are currently use to plan 2030 infrastructures and to assure efficient supply chains. 	Internet publication describing the activities of the Ecosite workgroup… Date : 24 october 2011 The State of Geneva publishes two internet sites providing acces to information on activities of the Ecosite workgroup. Since 2001, SOFIES is mobilised in supporting the Ecosite workgroup. 	SOFIES co-organizes the economic forum of AigleRegion… Date : 30 september 2011 Chablais region has been selected as a pilot case in 2011 for industrial ecology. Several lecturers will be present to this economic forum, such as Pr. 	SOFIES partner of the 3rd Research Market & Regional Development Conference 2011… Date : 1 september 2011 The objective of this event is to strengthen the links between the research and practice in the regional development. The conference this year will address the theme "Regional policy in neighboring countries - Lessons Learnt and Implications for Switzerland." Laetitia Carles will animate a thematic round table on "Which added values does an industrial ecology project bring to the regional development and its players?" 	SOFIES partner of the G21 - Swisstainability Forum the 14th and 15th of June 2011 at IMD, Lausanne... Date : 14 June 2011 The G 21 is organized as a reflexion plateform on the futur of the economy. Its goal is to support and develop knowledge sharing between stakeholders and economic players about environmental, social and economic issues. As a member of the organising committee, Guillaume Massard will attend the forum and Benoît Charrière will provide an Industrial Ecology workshop on "How to generate additional value through inter-firm collaboration". 	SOFIES' conference during the AIVP 2011 session in order to present the IE potential of port cities… Date : 9 June 2011 The AIVP forms the first worldwide network of port cities. AIVP is an associative structure which brings together more than 200 urban and port stakeholders in the development of cities and ports as well as their partners. Mr Lecomte, past president of "Port du Havre" , is currently the AIVP chairman after inheriting it from Mr Azkuna, district mayor of Bilbao. Öbu is a space of exchange of experiences and good practices for his members. This network has for mission to accelerate the Swiss economy's evolution according to the principles of durability. 	Benoît Charrière's Intervention during the "Economic meeting 2011" of Glâne-Veveyse territory… Date : 8 April 2011 During the first part of the meeting, Benoit Charrière introduces the concept of Industrial Ecology and its opportunities through corporations and industrial areas of Glâne-Veveyse territory. The second part of the meeting is held in Swisspor Romandie SA in order to visit its specific recycling activity with the CEO, Edouard Logoz.

	After three years of successful activity, SOFIES SA has been established as a limited company as of April 2011... Date : 28 March 2011 The company is recruiting new consultants in order to sustain the development of its activities in Switzerland and abroad. Today more than 50% of the turnover is achieved out of its native country. Main clients are multinationals and international organizations such as the World Bank and the UNO. Early 2011, the group has created a new branch office in Paris and has established partnerships to run its projects in India, Bangladesh, Serbia and West Africa.

	Conference of SOFIES on ISO 26'000 - CSR... Date : 23 March 2011 SOFIES is making a conference at the Service Industriels de Genève (SIG) in partnership with the cement company Holcim on the new ISO 26'000 norm. The aim is to understand how the strategy in terms of Corporate Sustainable Responsibility (CSR) can be adapted in the Swiss context and what the major challenges are. A couple of examples will be presented from real cases encountered in multinationals companies.

	Benoît Charrière is running an eco-industrial workshop during the Produrable fair in Paris… Date : 23 March 2011 The Produrable fair held in the CNIT of Paris-La-Défense the 23th and 24th March 2011 proposes a series of debats and meetings on Sustainable Development and Corporate Social Responsability (CSR). Within this framework, the aim of the eco-industrial workshop is to identify the main issues of Industrial Ecology and industrial estates through the example of Cimo, service and equipment supplier for the chemical industries in Monthey, Switzerland. 	SOFIES at the 2011 Career Day of the Geosciences and Environment Faculty (University of Lausanne)... Date : 11 february 2011 The Career Day of the students' association AEMGE is the opportunity for the students to speak with their future employers and to know more about the qualifications required and the recruitment terms. More than 15 enterprises and organizations were present at this second edition : FOEN, EAWAG, CHUV, SwissTopo, Mobilidée, CSD Ingénieurs and many more. 	David Rochat is contributing to the BEWMAN project in Macedonia… Date : 9 february 2011 As part of the BEWMAN project, in the period of February 6th to 10th, in Skopje, Macedonia, Metamorphosis Foundation in cooperation with Computer Aid International will organize a training of trainers’ event in order to transfer knowledge and lessons learned from the EU to the Balkan countries. 	Conference of SOFIES on Industrial Ecology organised by Cleantech Fribourg… Date : 3 february 2011 The new trend of Industrial Ecology provides an interesting framework to promote clean technologies on the territory of Fribourg. 	With the recent creation of the Estuary Industrial Ecology Association, the Industrial Ecology study on Seine Estuary is now started… Date : 19 january 2011 The 28th of June, after the Estuary Grenelle, the Estuary Industrial Ecology Association (AEIE) was created in order to initiate a specific approach on Seine Estuary territory. AEIE selected SOFIES for its expertise to build a solid strategy in Industrial Ecology . This begins now with an Industrial metabolism study on the territory. 	Guillaume Massard's Intervention during the Alterre Bourgogne meeting on Territorial Ecology in Dijon (France)… Date : 8 December 2010 How to move toward a more sustainable development optimising natural, human and material resources ? The emerging concept of territorial ecology propose solutions to face this challenge. Different agents and territories meets to share their views and experiences. In this context, Guillaume Massard propose a conference on "Developing new territorial dynamics optimising local resource use". 	Benoît Charrière's Intervention during the Swiss Association of Waste Treatment Tenants (ASED) meeting… Date : 1st December 2010 The 1st of December 2010, ASED organises a meeting on "Industrial Ecology and Waste Economy News". The field of waste management is evolving from simple waste elimination to energy production. Using resources rationally will become a real challenge for productive industries. In this context, Benoît Charrière will present how Monthey plans to optimise an entire production site with the eco-industrial approach thanks to the ECHO project. 	Ana Gonseth-Carvalho's intervention during the 2010 Business Meeting of Carouge Date : 17th november 2010 SOFIES has been helping Carouge city (Geneva) for two years in the implementation of an Industrial Ecology strategy. Three main issues have been identified related to enterprises most important concerns : energy consumption, waste management and mobility. The aim of this status check event is to present the first results of the project. 	SOFIES' Intervention during CVCI meeting on Sustainable Economy with corporations Date : 16th november 2010 Industrial Ecology is an innovative approach which seeks to reduce material losses in consumption and production processes. The cornerstone of this approach relies in the establishment of synergies between industries and corporations in order to reuse by-products (vapor, water, wastes, ...), share infrastructure and optimize waste management. This approach leads to the optimisation of raw materials, energy uses and pollution control. The conference provided an insight on industrial ecology, environmental performance and benefits that entrepreneurs can expect.

	SOFIES nomination to the "Swiss Award of Ethic 2010" Date : 9th november 2010 Initiated in 2005 by the High School of Engineering and Managment of Vaud Canton (HEIG-VD), the "Swiss Award of Ethic" promotes ethic, sustainable development and social responsability in corporation strategy and public collectivities. SOFIES is nominated for its project to integrate "Corporate systemic analysis on the whole values and stakeholders chain" in its proposal values from the 1st of May 2010. SOFIES plays a key role in helping companies tackle 21st century challenges in terms of sustainability. Ethics in business at a strategic level is a key success factor to achieve a fundamental change of behavior on the long run. The aim is to start by adapting the strategy and governance framework of the company in order to integrate social and environmental values, then to extend the concept to the whole value chain and stakeholders. 	Laurent Cuénoud nominated Chief Executive Officer at SOFIES Date : 1st October 2010 After 6 months dedicated in reinforcing SOFIES' strategy, Laurent Cuénoud assumes the position of Chief Executive Officer since October 2010. 	David Rochat contributes to the Fourth Summer University session organised by WWF France … Date : 16th September 2010 Two days of conferences and debates to understand the narrow bonds between economy and biodiversity, corporate issues and tools which can allow for a productive mutual understanding. 	The call for projects in Ecozoning, initiated by the Wallon Ministry of Economy, officially started... Date : 7th September 2010 Outcomes of this event are very positive, more than 200 participants (companies, regions and experts) took part to the different conferences and workshops. The consortium made up of Tractebel Engineering, Cap Conseil and SOFIES, supports the Ministry during all the process of this call of projects. 	SOFIES rewarded by a mention for the cantonal prize for sustainable development 2010 Date : 11th June 2010 In the continuity of the Industrial Ecology projects carried out with several french speaking cantons, SOFIES proposes to develop an Industrial Ecology Plateform for the French speaking part of Switzerland. This structure should reinforce exchange potentials and industrial symbiosis between economic actors of french-speaking Switzerland. 	A new strategic Director for SOFIES Date : 1st May 2010 After ten years in the development of an international IT consulting group, Laurent Cuénoud joined SOFIES the first May 2010 as Strategy director. His role consists first of all to coordinate SOFIES' development and then to reinforce the corporate consulting added value of a systemic approach. 	A Zheijang dignitaries delegation visits Switzerland : A success to be renewed Date : 23th April 2010 In the frame of Industrial Ecology concepts and tools project formation co-supported by UNIDO and SECO, SOFIES and its partner Swiss China Networking have organised a study tour for the dignitaries and executives of the Zheijang province in Switzerland. For a week, the delegation visited Industrial Ecology case studies : distance heating network of SAIDEF waste incineration plant, CIMO Industrial Ecology Project of a chemical site in Monthey, special and electronic wastes treatment by BAREC and CRIDEC recycling enterprises. SOFIES and Swiss China Networking thank gratefully the swiss enterprises for their availability and for welcoming the Zhejiang delegation.

	SOFIES wins the Wallon procurement notice on Ecozoning Date : 15th April 2010 In partnership with Tractabel Engineering and Cap Conseil, SOFIES won the public procurment notice on "Call for Ecozoning projects accompaniement" initiated by the Wallon Ministeries of Economy, External Trade, SMEs and New Technologies.
